Here is the best hat I have ever knitted:
As you can see, I wanted to give you pictures of the hat from all angles.
The hat is for this little boy:
Isn’t he the cutest kid you’ve ever seen?
Confession time: I’m tired of kid’s books.
WHAT???!!!
It’s true.
So, I’m going to read this book:
I love this guy. He wrote another book called, The Year of Living Biblically that had me riveted. The book was his journey of living a year, well, Biblically. For so many months he followed the law of the Old Testament (pretty intensely) and then for the rest of the year the New Testament. I love books like this and it’s been awhile since I’ve treated myself to one. In this book, The Know-It-All, I think he takes it upon himself to read all of the Encyclopedia Brittanica’s in a year, but I’ll get back to you on the specifics once I’ve finished it.
Any other ‘grown up’ book recommendations?
Before I go, let’s just take one more look at this awesome hat…
One word…AWESOME!!! Incredibly awesome!! Ok so that’s two words. LOVE LOVE LOVE the hat!! Can’t wait to see it on Caleb’s head.
I’m searching for the book today. :)
I just read The Year of Living Biblically 2 weeks ago! I thought it started rather slow (and more like a money-making lark) but then I was surprised at the depths of insights Jacobs found. A pretty insightful book.
I don’t know if I already told you this, but last year my favorite work of fiction was The Elegence of the Hedgehog.
You should come over for coffee/tea and we will talk books!
What a perfect hat! I’m proud of you friend! Great work!
Grown up book suggestion: Eat. Pray. Love. I bet you have already read this, but it was a great read!
Also, have you read any Ann Lamott?
[speechless.]
Oh, Libs!!!
Are you serious? You MADE that hat??? You are amazing, dear heart, and I can’t wait to see Caleb wearing it. It goes without saying that this hat will be one that he takes out to show his wife – when she’s pregnant with their first child – to prove that the stories she’s heard through the years about the hat made by Auntie Libs were altogether true!!!
Much love to you, sweetheart ;o)
